Slovember (2019-)
Since 2019, through The Ordinary and NIOD, Deciem Inc. has utilized the month of November to raise awareness about the flaws of consumerism and shopping customs across North America. As the last Friday of November is typically used as a time for customers to save with notable discounts as we transition into December, Deciem has flipped the script for the Holiday Season. Throughout November, people can make purchases of our products at a 23% discount on their total. The only exception is that customers cannot make purchases on the actual day of Black Friday. Instead, our website and stores are closed for those twenty-four hours. I've always appreciated that our Black Friday, which we refer to as "Slowvember", is a delicate reminder to slow down, and take as much time as you need to purchase whatever you'd like, whenever you'd like, and take the day that Black Friday actually comes around to do something else.
